Jee Aayan Nu: Sanjampreet Kaur Tells Us The Secrets And True Meaning Of Yoga

In this episode, yoga instructor Sanjampreet Kaur graces the house of Cheema and Kaushal. As soon as she enters, Seema asks what water she will have – warm or cold? Sanjampreet instantly answers that as per Ayurveda, we should drink warm water. In summer days, you should boil the water in the morning for the day. Kaur added that we can have warm or normal water, but we should avoid water from the fridge as it is not good for the digestion.

Sanjampreet busts one big myth about doing yoga, and that is that it is not okay to do yoga without a proper diet. Kaur says that a diet is necessary with yoga. We can’t have 30 minutes of yoga and then sip sweet tea or have pinnis. Sanjampreet even asserts that one needs to be active throughout the day to burn fat. She also says that one needs to have different grains like wheat and bajiri, and one should have the proper quantity of fibres, which are found in raw vegetables (salads) and fruits. Kaur even advises that we should avoid pizzas and pasta as they doesn’t have any fibre and are not healthy for the body.

We usually see people who tend to overdo yoga, because they are holding themselves in comparison with others. However, the instructor says that we should not overdo yoga or stress our stiff muscles to perfect a pose. Kaur adds that the perception of yoga has changed. Now, the definition of yoga is centred around making oneself lean and have a toned body only. In reality, yoga is meant for regularising the mind and body by looking deep inside oneself. Sanjampreet says that we are inclined towards westernised yoga now.

Sanjam cleared it out by saying both are good, and the one that suits your body is the best for you. She says that if you could have a mixture of yoga and gymming, it would do wonders for your body.
