Jersey: Shahid Kapoor Opens Up On Working With Father Pankaj Kapur In Cricket-themed Film; Don’t Miss Actor’s Witty Words

Shahid Kapoor is all set to win hearts for yet another time in his upcoming film Jersey. It is a cricket-themed film that is a remake of a Telugu movie of the same name. The trailer of the film was released today and it takes out the best of the actor. The film directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri features Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, and Pankaj Kapur in pivotal roles. This is for the third time that the father-son-duo of Pankaj and Shahid will collaborate on-screen. They have shared the screen space in films like Shaandaar and Mausam.

Shahid Kapoor talked about this experience at the event. During the Jersey trailer launch on Tuesday evening, Shahid spoke about collaborating with his father and veteran actor Pankaj Kapur. While Shahid affirmed that he wasn’t intimidated by him, he said that it was amazing to work with an actor like Pankaj Kapur. Adding more to it the Kabir Sing actor said that there is a scene where the two are having tea together. That was their first day together, recalled Shahid.

Speaking more of it, the actor said that he had shot for 15 days already. For some reason, the director of the film, Gowtam took his shot first. Shahid said that his dad did the take and suddenly Gowtam’s expression changed. Then he wanted him to come into the corner and Shahid did not understand what happened at that moment. The director asked Shahid if he will be able to match his performance because he is outstanding.

Adding more to it, Shahid Kapoor said that he was not intimidated by Pankaj Kapur, but he wanted to do his best. He also said that it was amazing to stand with a great actor like him. It was just amazing seeing what his father and actor Pankaj Kapur is doing with his craft. When Shahid worked with late actor Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Kay Kay Menon, and his father, it was always a learning experience. It is scary when one feels he/she is the best thing in anything. You should always learn, concluded Shahid Kapoor.

Shahid Kapoor will be seen essaying the role of a cricketer in his upcoming film Jersey. In the trailer of the film, he was seen sharpening his skills with the bat in the ground during the preparations. The film is all set to get a theatrical release on December 31, 2021.
