Jothe Jotheyali Lead Actress Megha Shetty Reveals How She Got Her Big Break

The newest entrant of Zee Kannada, Jothe Jotheyali, is back for another season and this time the concept is reversed. Instead of the heroine being old than the guy, this time it is the hero, Aaryavardhan, aged 45-years-old, who will eventually end up romancing a 20-year-old Anu, a college student. Having completed one successful week, the show’s lead actors Megha Shetty and Aniruddha Jatkar have already started amassing a huge fan following for their first venture together.

What’s interesting to know is that the young lass Megha Shetty is a complete newbie and found this opportunity her way just by chance. Aniruddha, on the other hand, is a prominent actor in the South film industries and is also the son-in-law of Sahasa Simha Dr Vishnuvardhan. In an interview with a leading daily, Megha opened up about how she landed the plum project on television due to sheer luck. “I wanted to appear for the UPSC exams, as my dream was to be an IAS officer. But looks like destiny has other plans, at least for now. I have no acting experience yet, I was approached for this role after I was discovered through social media. This has turned out to be my perfect launchpad on the small screen,” Megha said.

Upon asking about her role and how she worked towards it, the Jothe Jotheyali actress replied, “In this show, I play Anu, who is a sensible middle-class girl. Anu’s mother wants her to get married, but she constantly rejects proposals. I went through an intense training workshop conducted by the director, who helped me get the nuances of acting right well before the shoot began. My co-star Aniruddha sir too helps me get my dialogues and timing right.”

On the show, Anu and Aaryavardhan are not only separated by an age difference of more than two decades (25 years to be precise) but also their financial statuses, family values and outlook of life is as different as chalk and cheese.
