Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has regularly been a part of the news for her strong and controversial statements. This had increased after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, after which, she had begun talking about the ‘Bollywood mafias’. In one such incident, she mentioned Javed Akhtar’s name when she was in an interview while talking about SSR’s death. Due to this, Javed Akhtar filed a defamation case against Kangana, saying that she had forcibly dragged his name in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, and tried to defame his image.
For this defamation case, the metropolitan magistrate of Andheri, Mumbai, RR Khan, had issued a summon to Kangana Ranaut on February 1. According to the summon, she was supposed to appear for a hearing on March 1. When Kangana failed to appear for the hearing, despite a legal summons, she was issued a bailable warrant.
