Kangana Ranaut’s achievement of the prestigious Padma Shri award has made headlines. The actress is known for voicing her opinions and expressing her thoughts in public, whether it is about a personal matter or a national issue.
Kangana Ranaut disclosed on Wednesday that she ‘attempted to locate’ film producer Karan Johar at the Padma Awards ceremony. Kangana stated in a recent interview that she couldn’t notice him at the event despite her best efforts. She also stated that if they had met there, she would have talked to him.
Kangana Ranaut is embroiled in a tiff with Karan Johar. During an appearance on Koffee With Karan in 2017, she referred to him as the “flag-bearer of nepotism” and the “movie mafia.” Kangana attended a summit on November 10 and there she mentioned that “Our commemorations were at varying periods.” I guess they went out of their way to maintain different time schedules for both of us. I tried to find him, but he wasn’t there.” When questioned if she would indulge in a conversation with Karan, Kangana replied, “Of course,” and went on to say, “There could be quarrels, differences of opinion, but that does not necessarily imply you do not truly think in coexistence.” Coexistence is what I believe in. I advocate for a peaceful coexistence of all kinds.”
Kangana also said that “A few of the people who stepped in and took their glory, made her feel so insignificant, Some of them were both simple and massive in their presence. As they were embraced, she felt a sense of inadequacy. That was a rare occurrence for her. Seeing such people accept their awards made her wonder, “Am I good enough?”
Kangana, Ekta Kapoor, veteran actor Sarita Joshi, playback singer Suresh Wadkar, and music composer Adnan Sami were among the 61 Padma Shri awardees announced earlier this week. They were presented with the country’s fourth-highest civilian glory on Monday during a ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
