Announcing the big news, he shared that filmmaker Karan Singh Tyagi is on board to helm this project.
Karan Johar revealed that the film will portray the real-life events surrounding this tragic incident. Also, Raghu Palat’s book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’ will be a source of inspiration for this new project. Sharing all these details, Karan took to his Instagram handle and wrote, “Extremely excited and honoured to be bringing the untold story of C. Sankaran Nair, a historic man to the big screens. While this news has gotten the fans super excited, they are also expecting a ‘stellar cast’ for the project. Talking more about the film, it will mainly focus on the “legendary courtroom battle” that Sankaran Nair fought against the British Raj to unravel the truth behind the heinous act of the Jallianwala massacre. Well, another interesting chapter from history is all set to be revived through Bollywood’s gaze. It remains to be seen how this period drama is essayed on the big screens.
On the other hand, Karan has an array of interesting projects lined up ahead. Currently, he is busy with the most-awaited film Brahmastra.
