Kartik Aaryan Removed From The Cast Of Dostana 2, Dharma Productions Issues Statement

The upcoming film Dostana 2, which has been under production for some time now, has hit a new roadblock. Directed by Collin D’Cunha and produced by Karan Johar, the film is undergoing the process of recasting, as announced by Karan Johar’s production house, Dharma Productions. This comes with news of Kartik Aaryan being replaced. The lead cast includes Janhvi Kapoor and Laksh Lalwani.

Recently, it was reported that Dharma Productions has decided to remove Kartik Aaryan from the cast of Dostana 2, even after he completed 20 days of shoot of the film. The decision came after reports of creative fallout between producer Karan Johar and actor Kartik Aaryan. Reportedly, the production house has said that the Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor had been delaying the project for long.

Reports also say that his fallout with Karan Johar was because he chose to complete the shoot of his Netflix film Dhamaka, before resuming the shoot of Dostana 2. After the news of Kartik Aaryan being replaced, the Dharma Productions have also posted an announcement on their Instagram, which says, “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence – we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon.”

Due to the said creative fallout, Kartik Aaryan is also reportedly blacklisted by the production house. This news has caused actress Kangana Ranaut to tweet in support of the actor, and lash out at Karan Johar, for mistreating ‘the outsiders’.
