If a song resonates in your ears and its lyrics flit on your lips long after it has ended, then the effort of the artiste behind the song is worth it. This is what one such song by television judge and singer Katy Perry, has done. Sharing one such ‘cool’ story about her 2019 song ‘Harleys In Hawaii’ that had her fans grooving over it is singer-songwriter Katy Perry. Explaining the inspiration behind the song, Katy Perry in a series of Instagram posts said it was a trip with fiance Orland Bloom that spawned the 186-second effort.
Released on October 16, 2019, the song was recorded in Unsub Studios and MXM Studios in Los Angeles, USA and Stockholm in Sweden. The post also has Katy Perry in a motorcycle with English actor Orlando Bloom, whose portrayal of Legolas in The Lord Of the Rings film made him a household name for LOTR fans. The Instagram post also had a light-hearted go at users who lip-synced to her song, turning the camera to their side.
The opening of this pop offering takes one through stunning visuals of Katy Perry initially riding with other bikers on a deserted stretch of highway, all astride the magnificent Harleys. The entire video shows Katy Perry sharing some romantic and intimate moments with Orlando Bloom and also holding him in a tight embrace as the duo rev up the mean machine on the picturesque Hawaiin road.
The lyrics “You and I, I/ Ridin’ Harleys in Hawaii-i-i/I’m on the back, I’m holdin’ tight, I/Want you to take me for a ride, ride,” sort of melts right into the hearts of any love birds and is inspirational for those stuck by cupid to do something similar, if not on a Harley. The song also in a way indicates her comfort level with Orland Bloom when she sings “Boy, tell me, can you take my breath away?/Cruisin’ down a heart-shaped highway/Got you swervin’ lane-to-lane, don’t hit the brakes/ ‘Cause I’m feelin’ so safe.”
