The critically-acclaimed actress has joined hands for a campaign called #IndiaAgainstAbuse to put an end to the toxicity on social media.

The Internet has been no less than a blessing in the lives of many. It has changed our way of thinking and helped us develop a perspective of everything around us. On the flip side, there has also been an increase in targeted abuse with the advent of social media in the past few years. The Internet has become a place where trollers go about spewing hatred and hurling abuses. Celebrities are the most affected by online abuse since they are public figures. To put an end to the toxicity that goes around on social media, a campaign called #IndiaAgainstAbuse has been initiated by actresses Sayani Gupta and Maanvi Gagroo. Many celebs have extended support for this campaign and the latest one to join hands is the popular actress from M-Town, Amruta Subhash. The actress shared a video urging her fans to take a stand against online abuse and make social media a platform free from toxicity.

The targeted abuse, bullying, and harassment on social media is on the rise since the past few years. Hence, it is high time that we don’t take online abuse for granted. Considering this, Amruta became a part of the India Against Abuse campaign through which she is seeking a permanent solution to trolling. The critically acclaimed actress uploaded a video on Instagram where she spoke at length about how she has also fallen prey to online abuse. Amruta, who is known for her roles in films like Gully Boy, Raman Raghav 2.0, Shwaas, and Killa, has made a mark in both Bollywood and the Marathi film industry. Yet the actress is targeted by trolls who have hurled abuses at her online. To ensure that this all ends, Amruta urged her fans to join the cause and take a stand against online abuse. The actress is quite outspoken and is often found expressing her views on social media. Amruta has proved yet again that she knows her social responsibility by being a part of this campaign.

Apart from Amruta, various celebrities have joined the cause by signing the petition including Bollywood biggies like Swara Bhasker, Sonam Kapoor, Kabir Khan, Vikramaditya Motwane, and many others. We hope that the authorities take strict action against online harassment to make Internet a safer place for everyone.
