With cinema halls being closed owing to lockdown following the novel coronavirus outbreak, people at home are struggling to fight the boredom. Also, needless to say, one needs the inspiration and motivation to stay strong during these testing times. So, we bring to you these five feel good comedy films that might lift your mood amid the war against the global pandemic.

En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom, that revolves around a pair of lost footwear of an actress, is one of the most bizarre romantic films of the year 2017. Starring Tamizh, Anandhi, and Yogi Babu in the lead roles, it talks about the adventures of a young man, who tries to trace the missing sandals of his female lover. Directed by KP Jagan, the film also stars Bala Saravanan, KS Ravikumar and Singam Puli in prominent roles.

En Aaloda Seruppa Kaanom is a very unusual plot but it is a sure delight to the audiences for its bizarre love story and hilarious touch. This makes for an entertaining watch, courtesy Yogi Babu’s comic timing. You can now watch it on ZEE5.

Naan Sirithal 

Debutant Raana’s Naan Sirithal is a youth-oriented musical, starring Hiphop Tamizha and Iswarya Menon in the lead roles. Touted to be a comedy entertainer, it revolves around Gandhi (Hip Hop Aadhi), who suffers from pseudobulbar affect. The film talks about Gandhi’s medical condition of how’s he is unable to control his laughter whenever he is faced with an uncomfortable situation. And how he copes up with this laughing disorder and learns to face problems without feeling apprehensive, shapes the remainder of the film.

The film also stars Badava Gopi, Eruma Saani Vijay, KS Ravikumar, Shah Ra, Munishkanth Ramdoss, Ravi Mariya, Sujatha Sivakumar, Sathya Kumar and Gowthami Vembunathan in supporting roles. Naan Sirithal is the big-screen (film) adaptation of Raana’s own (award-winning) short film Kekka Bekka Kekka Bekka. You will surely enjoy this one!

Kolamavu Kokila

Nayanthara starrer Kolamavu Kokila is a black comedy crime film. Written and directed by debutant Nelson Dilipkumar, the film is about a life of a woman named Kokila (played by Nayanathara), who is a drug peddler and the effects that her profession brings to her personal life. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, Kolamavu Kokila also features Yogi Babu and Saranya Ponvannan in significant roles.

Kalavani Mapillai

Kalavani Mappillai revolves around a young man Deva, who desires to marry his love, Thulasi. However, Thulasi’s mother is looking for a son-in-law who can drive and Deva now has to prove his driving skills to his girlfriend’s mother. But Deva has been forbidden from driving any kind of vehicle because of the presence of Vaagana Dhosham in his jaadagam. He decides to hide the fact from Thulasi’s mother in order to marry her daughter without any obstacles. But little did he know, Thulasi’s mother can’t stand lies and if anyone yet dares to cook up a lie to get something done, the punishment is unimaginable. And now, watching Deva manage the whole crazy situation will surely leave you in splits. The film stars Attakatthi Dinesh and Adhiti Menon in lead roles and is worth a watch.

Endrendum Punagai

Starring Jiiva, Trisha in the lead roles and Santhanam, Vinay Rai in supporting roles, Endrendum Punagai revolves around friends, Gautham (Jiiva), Baby and Sri, who make a pact to remain a bachelor forever. However, Baby and Sri have a change of heart and they get married, leaving Gautham alone.

While working on a project, Gautham too meets a girl named Priya (Trisha) and they become good friends. Now, Gautham falls in love with her which leads to other circumstances. Watch this 2013 romantic comedy film to find out if Gautham too breaks the pact like his friends?

Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven

Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, which revolves around Raghunandan, who disowns his daughter Nandhini after she marries against his will. It is a 2019 Tamil action comedy movie starring Silambarasan, Catherine Tresa, Megha Akash, and Ramya Krishnan in the lead roles. In the film, Raghunandan, as he grows old, desires to unite with his daughter (Ramya Krishnan) before he dies. So, he seeks the help of his grandson Aadi.
