Actor Samanath Ruth Prabhu’s legal move to get YouTube Channels pull down content derogatory of her personal life has ended in success. The court has directed the channels to pull down such content straight away.

There is light at the end of the legal tunnel for actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu after all. Faced with incessant trolling over her move to separate from actor-husband Naga Chaitanya, the Ye Maaya Chesave girl had moved the courts seeking relief. If the initial observations from the court seemed not to favour her, the final verdict should certainly come as a big relief to the actor and her legal team.

Adjudicating her plea to direct several YouTube channels that ran defamatory content against her, the jurisdictional court in Kukatpally on October 26 directed them to pull down all content that showed the actor in poor light.

The On Baby actor had also brought a plaint against a noted advocate-politician Venkat Rao who too had allegedly dwelt on her personal life and even hinted that she had affairs. Most interestingly, all this surfaced on social media after Samantha Ruth Prabhu went public with her decision to separate from actor Naga Chaitanya on October 2.

The court while directing the three YouTube channels to pull down the content straight away, also directed the media outlets not to make any personal attacks on Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the future as well.

The actor was forced to rebut all these allegations made against her in these YouTube channels and even individually. The allegations apart from the insinuation that she was having affairs, also suggested that she had undergone abortions as well. The actor’s legal team is believed to have used the move that Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty did in securing a permanent injunction order as a reference point in its defense.

This move by the actor in some ways did shut down the trolls. However, with defamatory content still lingering in the public domain, the actor moved the court with a suit of defamation and found victory in her quest for justice. The court in doing so, also in its sage way asked her to refrain from making her private life public on social media sites.
