Kumkum Bhagya: Here’s Why We Feel Pallavi Kohli Is A Conservative Mother To Ranbir

Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya has been on air on the channel for many years now. This family drama daily soap has enjoyed very high TRP ratings from the time that it had premiered. The focus of the Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia starrer television drama has always been Pragya and Abhi’s love story but, the Kumkum Bhagya episodes turned towards a different plot when Pragya and Abhi separated. This show has now taken a leap of two decades and the focus of the show has now become the lives of Prachi, Rhea, and Ranbir, who come from completely different backgrounds. Ranbir sure is lucky to have a family that loves him to death, but his mother Pallavi has often proved to be very conservative. When Ranbir confessed to his family that he is in love with Prachi and wants to spend his entire life with her, Pallavi slapped the young adult Ranbir because she doesn’t like Prachi. She has never respected Ranbir’s choice and has many times insulted Prachi in front of other people, not caring about how Ranbir would feel. She has also tried to separate Prachi from Ranbir, leaving her own son in tears.

When Pallavi came to know about the fact that Prachi and Ranbir have secretly been engaged with each other, she locked Ranbir inside his room. Pallavi got fumed about the fact that Ranbir went against her wishes and made a choice of his own. Regardless of her own husband telling her that she is doing the wrong thing, Pallavi continued to treat Ranbir like a child and forced her decisions on him.

When Pallavi was in the ICU, she made Ranbir promise to her that he will stay away from Prachi and marry Rhea only. She took advantage of Ranbir’s vulnerable position and made him do what she wants. Even though Pallavi knows that Ranbir is not happy with this decision, she forces him to marry Rhea or “let her die”.
