The yesteryear heroines, who scintillated us with their amazing performances back in the ’90s, have now made a comeback to the television and film industry. However, these actresses, who were young, popular and were at their peak at one time, are not satisfied with being relegated to insignificant mother roles in films. And rightly so!  Instead they turned to the small screen to find opportunities for their amazing talent. Given their popularity and acting abilities we are sure they got their pick of the roles on television. Either they are seen playing the lead role in the series or hosting or judging the reality shows. However, not every film actress can make a success out of a career in television and still retain the same level of popularity. But here are five mega actresses from yesteryears who managed to secure a thriving career in television.

From Kushboo, Radhika Sarathkumar, Ramya Krishnan to Devayani and Sneha, here are five actresses, who gave umpteen amazing films, but now have successfully ventured to the small screen and have left their presence there too. Not that these actresses have completely stopped accepting film offers, it’s just that they only give a nod if the script manages to impress them.

From being a film actress, producer to her journey as a television presenter, television actress and now a politician, you name it and Kushboo has done it all. The actress, who acted in over 200 movies in her career span, was last seen hosting a ZEE Tamil show tilted Simply Khusboo, where she invited renowned celebrities for a candid chat about their life, experiences and upcoming projects. The actress was also acted in shows like Sondhame Endrallum, Marumagal, Kumkumam, Kalki, Namma Kudumbam, Paartha Gnabagam Illayo, Pasamalar, among others.

Sneha Prasanna has not only given us hits like Autograph, Vasool Raja MBBS, Parthiban Kanavu but also has starred opposite legends like Mohanlal, Kamal Haasan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Prakash Raj, Dhanush, among others. However, the actress ventured to the small screen post-marriage. She was last seen judging the reality show Dance Jodi Dance 3.0 along with Sembaruthi show fame Priya Raman and Pooja Umashankar on Zee Tamil. The actress was also seen as a host for Melam Kottu Thali Kattu season 1 and 2, Honeymoon Jodigal and Soppana Sundari, while also being a judge on shows like Dance Jodi Dance, Dancing Khilladies and Dance Jodi Dance Juniors.

When one speaks of yesteryear actresses venturing to the television industry, the first name that comes to our mind is Radhika Sarathkumar. After all, she has been around for almost a decade now and leads the pack. Right from Chithi to Vani Rani and now Chandrakumari, the actress not only became a household name but also managed to woo the womenfolk in every household in a big way. The actress is currently seen in Chithi 2, where she has reprised her lead role of Saradha from the original series Chithi. Devayani too has managed to woo masses with her amazing performances in the telly series, as she is known on the big screen. The actress, who gave us films like Surya Vamsam, Kadhal Kottai, Vijay-starrer Friends and critically-acclaimed Bharathi, ventured to do daily soaps on television channels, after her marriage with director Rajakumaran. The actress won the hearts of housewives with her roles in Kolangal and Muthaaram, which were huge hits.
