Late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan recently took to social media to announce that he has dropped out of college to pursue acting full-time. Babil had been studying the BA in Film from the University of Westminster & had earned a total of 120 credits before he decided to quit and pursue acting properly.

The newbie will be making his debut in Anushka Sharma’s Qala in which he stars along with Swastika Mukherjee and Tripti Dimri. The shoot of the film had been halted due to the pandemic but Babil has resumed the shoot with the cast earlier this week. This will be Anushka Sharma’s first stint as a producer post her daughter, Vamika’s birth. Now according to reports, the budding actor is all set to collaborate with Piku director Shoojit Sircar for his second project! He shared a picture on his Instagram with Shoojit Sircar and producer Ronnie Lahiri and captioned it, “Honoured to be working with these legends.” The project stars Zayn Khan along with Babil.

Many fans were confused whether the project is a film or an advertisement as the set looks very contemporary and ad-like. Producer Ronnie Lahiri too shared the same photo on his own account and wrote, “Honoured to take forward your legacy Irrfan sir. Worked with a legend like you, And now Babil. If this is not Providence, what is?’

Babil’s father had collaborated with Shoojit Sircar for Piku, which turned out to be a very well-liked film and also starred Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. Babil Khan is a very vocal young man and speaks remembers his father very often. His Instagram too is dotted with pictures and praise of his father whom he lovingly calls “baba.”
