MAA elections: Resignations continue, now Prakash Raj’s panel members who won the election resign
Eight members of the executive committee, one executive vice president, a joint secretary, and a vice president are among those leaving the Movie Artistes Association from the Prakash Raj panel. Actor Tanish, who also won one of the posts, gave a shocking revelation of the foul means used on the election’s day.
The MAA elections become murkier with every passing statement and day. Post the resignation of the Presidential candidate and veteran actor Prakash Raj from the association, now his 11-winning panel members have resigned from their respective posts. Prakash Raj and his other panel members stated the reason for their resignations to be regionalism, foul methods, and abusive approach to the elections.
Eight members of the executive committee, one executive vice president, a joint secretary, and a vice president are among those leaving the Movie Artistes Association from the Prakash Raj panel. Vishnu Manchu defeated Prakash Raj as the Presidential candidate post which the latter resigned from his membership to the association. Actor Srikanth, who won the executive vice-president post, also resigned stating his reasons at the recent press meet.
Srikanth stated that his primary reason to leave his post was to give a free hand to Vishnu Manchu. If there are members from different panels working together, there ought to arise some differences. As in the case of the last two elected years, the association should not be compromised on this ground. To honor the proceeding and decisions of the association, Prakash Raj’s panel decided to quit after giving the rights to Vishnu Manchu that he must appoint his own panel members to the now vacant posts.
Other members also came forward and spoke about the atmosphere of fear during the polling and counting of votes. They stated that in such an environment, disagreements become an uninvited guest with everyone’s temper to its peak.

Actor Tanish, who also won one of the posts, gave a shocking revelation of the foul means used on the election’s day. He stated that he along with his mother were abused by Mohan Babu in front of all the other panel members. With a heavy heart and teary eyes, he resigned from his post stating that he won’t be able to take over the responsibilities of the association in such an environment.
All the winning members of the Prakash Raj panel asked for forgiveness from the association and all the members who voted in favor of them. They sent their thankfulness to all before quitting from the association, including Prakash Raj, Srikanth, and Tanish.
