Maari 01 August 2023 Written Update: Who Is the Divine Woman Helping Maari?

In the previous episode of Maari, Maari serves food for Devi on the banana leaf but is confused when the latter does not come. Hiding her deceit, Tara taunts Maari that the ritual procedure was wrong so Devi did not accept the puja. As Maari gets upset, the elderly woman appears and realizes Tara’s deceit when she sees the black bundle tied on the door. The old woman tells Maari to remove it to let Devi enter the house. Tara and Jasmine are confused when Maari welcomes Devi into the house. The old woman tells Maari to serve Devi. Maari serves Devi and tells Surya and Jagdish to join her. Sankarapandi assumes that Maari is insane when she claims that Devi is present at the puja. Hasini is happy to feel Devi’s presence as the food served on the leaf disappears. After Devi eats the offering, Maari gifts her a sari and seeks her blessings. Tara gets irked when her plan fails and hatches another ploy to stop the last ritual to be performed by Maari. The next day Maari makes arrangements for the ‘Varalakshmi Vratham’. As told by the priest, Maari and Hasini go to houses to invite the ‘Sumangalis’ to the function, and Sankarapandi and Sreeja follow the duo. As soon as Maari and Hasini leave, Sreeja and Sankarapandi visit the women, tell them not to attend the function, and threaten them with dire consequences.

In the next episode of Maari, Tara adds a chemical in the water meant for the puja, with a plan to kill Maari, and rushes into the room. Unaware of Tara’s ploy, Maari begins the puja. Tara is happy when Sreeja tells her that she threatened the women and stopped them from attending the function. The priest tells Maari to sing a devotional song to the deity, Jasmine gets irritated when a love-smitten Murugan asks her to sing. As requested by Surya, Maari sings a song in praise of the goddess. Sreeja complains to Tara when Murugan tries to get romantic with Jasmine.

Sreeja and Jasmine taunt Maari when the invited women fail to turn up for the function. Maari, disheartened by Sreeja’s words, prays to the goddess. As she prays, the divine old woman appears, which baffles Tara and the gang. Maari laments to the divine old woman when she asks her if the ladies attended the function.  The divine old woman assures Maari that she will summon the ladies for the function.

The divine old woman calls out to nine goddesses to help Maari complete the puja. While Maari is glad to see the women, Tara, and her gang are startled that their plan failed to stop the women. A happy Maari offers prayers to the deity and presents saris to the women attending the puja and seek their blessings. Tara tells her evil plan to Jasmine when the latter laments about the women attending the function. With her divine powers, the old woman destroys the chemical added to the water. Assuming that Maari will meet her end, Tara is happy when the woman pours water on Maari’s head.
