Since most of us are confined to our homes owing to the novel coronavirus pandemic, Jyothika’s Magalir Mattum is sure to help you detach for a while from the lockdown. The film is releasing on ZEE5 on Saturday (September 5, 2020). So, ahead of its release, let’s check out the reasons why we think Jyothika starrer Magalir Mattum must be included in your #Lockdown watchlist.
Plot
Prabhavati (Jyothika), who is a documentary filmmaker, decides to take her future mother-in-law Gomatha Silkurayappan (Urvasi) on a trip. As Prabhavati learns that Gomatha misses her school best friends Subbulakshmi Mangalamoorthy and Rani Amirthakumari Gothandaraman but has no contact to get in touch with them, she plans a trip to reunite Gomatha with her long lost friends.
Inspiring
The story of Magalir Mattum is about four women, who embark on a journey with no plans in mind. The three housewives, who have been prioritising the needs of other people over their own, decide to take a trip and live for themselves for the next 72 hours. It is very inspiring to see three women (Gomatha, Subbulakshmi, Rani) embarking on a journey of self-exploration, finding the freedom within and re-discovering their lost self.
Power-packed performances
Jyothika, who is called the Lady Kamal Haasan owing to her dedication in acting, won the hearts of the audience with her brilliant performance in the film. We can totally say that the actress held the film together with her strong screen presence. And veteran actresses Urvasi, Saranya and Bhanupriya, who are few of the best actresses we had back in those days, too did a great job. Their performance was purely natural.
Songs
The music for Jyothika and Urvasi starrer Magalir Mattum has been scored by Ghibran. From all the lyrics to the background score, everything just perfectly blends to this feel-good entertainer. I am sure, some songs will strike the right chord with its audiences.
Comedy
Magalir Mattum is a feel-good entertainer with lots of humour. I am sure, Urvasi and Saranya’s one-liners will surely make you laugh your guts out. So, are you ready for a laughter riot?
