The Marvel superhero film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings has opened to thunderous fan reaction and love. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Cretton and David Callaham, Shang-Chi is the first-ever Marvel film starring an Asian lead played by Chinese-Canadian actor Simu Liu. And oh boy, the actor got the briefing to the point.
In fact, Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings is also the first MCU film featuring martial arts as a fighting technique. Earlier they gave a brief introduction to martial arts in their Marvel superhero series Iron Fist. Nevertheless, the film has had a humongous reception internationally as well as in India despite the COVID restrictions in cinema halls. At the domestic box office, the Marvel film has gone off to an excellent start. According boxofficeindia.com, the film has done very well on the first day as it recorded collections in the 3-3.25 crore. It further stated that this is the highest opening day number since the restart of cinemas in India in July and the second-best opening for Hollywood in India post the pandemic.
The fascinating fan reactions on social media are no different. A Twitter user Noah Goucher writes, “Movie No. 206- Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings Very fun (and surprisingly weird!) movie. Lot of fun surprises throughout, even if the pacing gets a little off at times.”
Another Twitter user called the actors charming and wrote, “We had a lot fun watching Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings at the theater. Simu Liu and Awkwafina are charming, wonderful additions to the MCU. The choreography knocked it out of the park. Good use of comedy. All-around, fun movie. Thumbs up”.
“Ok I don’t mean to be over dramatic but Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was honestly to god the coolest movie I’ve ever seen,” tweeted another.
Well, a female fan had an outright suggestion Shang-Li. “its called Shang-Chi and the legend of the TEN rings like bby boy what do you need ten rings for?? give one to me. preferably on one knee,” read the tweet.
