The young Sunny Leone from ZEE5 original Karenjit Kaur: The Untold Story is “keen to continue in Bollywood and try going to Hollywood if possible.”

From a reserved uni-browed girl bullied for her hairy legs transitioning into a glamorous porn movie star to scaling subsequent heights in Bollywood – Sunny Leone has been on a roller coaster ride. Her humble background may have pushed her to take the step, but becoming an adult film entertainer was a decision that Sunny made on her own, with a fair understanding of all that she would have to face. As she describes it herself, “It’s all about GUTS.” And this one right here has some darn serious ones, no kidding. The ZEE5 Original Karenjit Kaur: The Untold Story is proof of the same.

In a first, Leone decided to bare her life history into a two-part web series each consisting of ten episodes playing her own self in the biopic. While the Indo-Canadian star is seen depicting the latter part of her journey, Dubai-born 14-year-old Rysa Saujani plays the mini “Karenjit Kaur Vohra.” Talking about the stint, the England resident told a leading news agency, “I am playing her innocent years between the age around 12-13 up to 15. I felt like the role was emotionally very challenging. I always wanted to play such types of roles that had a lot of emotional depth.”

Rysa revealed that she’d video call Sunny regularly which helped her prepare for the role. “Before arriving on the set, I did regular Skype calls, and felt like that helped me to understand young Sunny’s journey a lot more. I was able to have my questions cleared which allowed me to act in my best ability.” “I have nothing but respect for her (Sunny Leone). She has always been very gracious and made me feel comfortable,” Rysa added.

More importantly, her family had absolutely no qualms about the teenager playing Sunny Leone. “Within my family, especially, we don’t have the right to make any judgements about someone. This (the show) reemphasized the belief that I had. She is one of the most genuine people I have ever met,” she told the agency.

Karenjit Kaur: The Untold Story is, however, not Saujani’s first acting venture, though. She has earlier played younger Huma Qureshi in 2017 film Dobaara: See Your Evil which made her realize that acting was something that she really wanted to do.

Despite a big ticket in the form of this chunky role, Rysa reveals she plans to focus on her education first. She asserted, “I am still in school and doing my education in England. I do really care about my grades and want to do well. So, because of my education, it is better for me to stay in London.” Also, further adding that she is, “keen to continue in Bollywood and try going to Hollywood if possible.”
