As we continue to battle the Coronavirus epidemic by taking precautions and staying at home, the talented Kaali 2 actor Vidya Malavade brings up a very relevant point to ponder amid these dire times. She talks about an aspect from our lives that has been emphasised by the pandemic that strikes a chord.

Kaali 2 is now released on ZEE5. Watch the trailer here:

Have a look at this post by Vidya Malavade, which she recently shared with us on her social media page.

Vidya remembers the last time she wore sunglasses and went out from a photo of herself that she has found. She has posted it along with a thought-provoking message. Her caption reads: “The last time wore sunnies .. 😎
Like so many things in my wardrobe I thought I sooooo NEED ..
No use now huh .. that’s how life is .. teaches you how you need …Not much really !
Yea .. some Love ,fresh air & food would be quite enough ..
Whadya tink?” (sic)

Vidya is known for her affinity towards holistic living, and she leads by example by choosing to consume healthy food and practising yoga everyday. In this particular message, she draws attention to the tendency humans usually have to want more stuff and consume as much as they can. In a world driven by consumerism, it isn’t uncommon for us to strive to acquire more. But most often, the desire to accumulate materialistic objects is ultimately deemed unnecessary and futile. For example, before the pandemic struck, it may have been our habit to shop for lots of high end products like designer clothes or branded goods. However, now that we are witnessing leaner times and not even socialising much, these things are just lying unused and unworn. Vidya has become aware that we don’t really need an excess of stuff to live a wholesome and happy life.

The times have made us re-evaluate many of our philosophies and have brought to light the indisputable fact that we don’t really need much more than fresh air, food, and love to live a life of superior quality. Indeed, if we have these things, we are luckier than most citizens in the world, and there has been no better time than now to be consciously grateful for these essential amenities. Our lives gain meaning and are enriched by these, rather than hollow objects that we will soon tire of in any case, and our current situation highlights this.

What did you think of Vidya Malavade’s point? Let us know in the comment section below!
