In one such Instagram post of the actress, she shared her disappointment and anger regarding the scamming of the valuable Remdesivir medication using glucose recently.

On May 3, 2021, Mouni Roy took to her Instagram page to reveal a rather disturbing occurrence. In a lengthy Instagram post, the actress shared her utter dismay regarding COVID-19 medication scams that are taking place in the country amidst the pandemic. Calling it ‘heinous’, Mouni wrote how certain scums were selling doses filled with salt and glucose in the name of Remdesivir, a medication that has been in high demand lately. Additionally, the actress mentioned that these scammed medicines were being sold for five thousand rupees, each.

One of the most vital medicines during these grim times in India, the availability of Remdesivir has been extremely scarce. People have been struggling to find enough doses of the medication for their family and friends, in order to save them from succumbing to COVID-19. Mouni wrote about how people must have been helplessly holding onto the hope that these doses would somehow save their loved ones, while they were being completely lied to. She asked for her followers to come together to condemn such a demonic act of injustice. The actress added that the demand for justice against such a crime should be so powerful, that nobody would ever dare to commit such a disgusting and shameful act ever again. Mouni also said she was terrified to have learned about it and hoped that it stops with immediate effect.
