Actor Nakuul Mehta has stepped up to become the voice of the poor and he has chosen an artistic way to do so. The TV actor took to Twitter to recite a poem written by Ajay Singh to shed light on the country’s ongoing COVID-19 crisis. The poem, which is a part of the duo’s poetry special, Too Much Democracy, talks about the health crisis and how the government is turning a blind eye towards it. The powerful poetry has been picked up by the netizens and is turning viral.

The country is facing the second wave of COVID-19 infections. The pandemic is turning rather disastrous with each passing minute with death rates rising high. In light of the misfortunate events, actor Nakuul and Ajay decided to voice the plight of the common man through a piece of poetry. In the video, Nakuul Mehta can be seen narrating rhyming verses which scream agony of the poor and suffering.

The poetry hits the right mark intended as the writer takes a dig at the Government for not being invested enough in the situation. From the shortage of medical facilities like beds to people dying on the roads without help, the poetry points at all the problems the country is facing now.
