Neethane Enthan Ponvasantham‘s Subbu is on his way to find a suitable match for Anu. He has insisted, time and again, that the groom has to be close to Anu’s age, and not more than 3 years older than her. While he fixates on this attribute, Anu looks lost as this is the only criteria that Surya cannot match. Is their age gap a real problem, or should Subbu try keeping an open mind?

Subbu’s perspective 

Subbu is not someone who would force his views on Anu. He has been supportive of Anu’s choices throughout her career, and never let society’s comments change his mind. So we know that he is not trying to insist on the age for his reputation in society. He feels like Anu will be able to share a better life with someone who is close to her age. Being from the same generation has the added advantage of being able to understand each other’s mindset.

Surya and Anu’s differences 

Surya has seen it all in life, and Anu is still discovering many things. He has been married before while Anu has fallen in love for the first time in life. She has a lot to see, so she can be a little immature when compared to Surya at times. Take, for example, when Surya got angry at her for wearing a dress. We are sure that the two would have handled the situation differently if they would communicate and understand each other better.

Having everything said, Surya and Anu, look at life in the same way. They have a shared value system that puts family at the centre of everything. This is why they can both be assured that the other will always look out for their family and only do the best for them. As long as they are willing to work on their differences, it will all be fine!
