On The Birthday Of Music Composer Arjun Janya, Here’s A List Of 10 Best Films He Worked On

Known for his tremendous contribution to the Sandalwood industry, say happy birthday to Arjun Janya, the award-winning music composer and singer. Born on May 13, 1980, in Bengaluru, Arjun Janya first started off working for prominent composers like K Kalyan before making his own debut as a music director in 2006, with the film Autograph Please. Nine films later, he bagged his first award for the film Birugali (2009), titled ‘South Scope Film Award for The Best Music Director’.

He has worked in over 100 films since the beginning of his career and has won eight more prestigious awards since then, including the SIIMA Award for Best Music Director (for the film Romeo in 2012) and the SIIMA Award for The Best Playback Singer (for the film Varadanayaka in 2014). A valuable asset to the industry by large, he is currently a judge on the Zee Kannada reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs Season 16.

1. Rajadhani (2011)

In the Rocking Star Yash and Sheena Shahabadi starrer film Rajadhani, Arjun Janya sang the song Thottilu and was also the music composer!

2. Dandupalya (2012)

Janya Ji was the music director for the crime-drama film Dandupalya, starring Pooja Gandhi. 

3. Bhajarangi (2013)

For Bhajarangi, Arjun Janya won the biggest award in his composing career, The Filmfare Award for The Best Music Director – Kannada. He also sang the song Bossu Nam Bossu, in the film. Isn’t that super cool?

4. Barfi (2013)

For Barfi, starring Bhama and Diganth, the music maestro lent his voice to the song Eno Onthara. 

5. Auto Raja (2013)

In the hit film Auto Raja starring Golden Star Ganesh, Arjun Janya sang not one but three songs, ‘Auto Raja Auto Raja‘, ‘Sachin Batting Ge‘, and ‘Node Node‘.

6. Vajrakaya (2015)

Working with one of the top-listers in Sandalwood, Namma Shivanna, Arjun Janya was the music director for Vajrakaya and did some great work.

7. Hebbuli (2017)

He has also made some excellent music for the action-drama film Hebbuli, starring Kiccha Sudeep.

8. Raaga

The beautiful 50s-themed Raaga, starring Mithra and Bhama is yet another beauty in the music composer’s list of super cool films.

9. Raambo 2

Who remembers the comedy-thriller film Raambo 2 starring Sharan and Ashika Ranganath? Arjun Janya composed the hit songs for this film.

10. The Villain

With singers like Shankar Mahadevan, Vijay Prakash and Kailash Kher, Janya Ji went on to compose some sakkath songs for The Villain and they were definitely loved by viewers.

And the list goes on. Apart from films, his mentorship in the entire Sa Re Ga Ma Pa franchise has been praise-worthy. Along with fellow judges Rajesh Krishnan and Vijay Prakash and the Mahaguru Nadabramha Hamsalekha sir, Arjun Janya too has a soft corner for kids. His social media handles will prove it.
