Mazhya Navryachi Bayko, Zee Marathi’s hit TV show which just got over this week has had Gurunath Subhedar as its villain since the beginning. Abhijeet Khandkekar essayed the role with so much ease that his role was hated and loved at the same time! The idea was to make Gurunath a “loveable bastard.” We think that Pahile Na Me Tula’s Samarpratap also has a similar sentiment associated with him.
As you know, Gurunath had not just fooled Radhika at one point, but also Shanaya and Maya. Just like that in the recent most episode, we saw how easily Samar won the favour of Manu’s parents and even gets invited for Manu’s prospective husband meeting! They are both smooth criminals, they have charm and they use it to their advantage. Shashank Ketkar is a known face in the Marathi industry and for him to be cast for Samar’s role itself shows that the makers wanted it to be someone who is charming, yet extremely bad!
They are both master manipulators of people and situations. They bend situations to suit their needs and goals and often put other people in a spot due to this. As we will see Samar do that in the latest episode where he will force Manu to talk about her love for Aniket by telling the grooms parents’ that she can swear she doesn’t love anyone!
We have seen Gurunath always come back with another plan to trouble Radhika. Just like that, we have been seeing Samar come up with new ploys all the time to get Manu away from Aniket and closer to him. In the coming episodes, as Aniket takes the driver’s job, Samar will again find opportunities to insult him and make Manu feel awkward.
Gurunath’s character arc does not change and he remains a crook until the very end.
We think that Samar might be the same and never change his obsessive way of love and manipulation. But if he does, it will be a great change and could also be a very interesting turn of events for the show and for Manasi as well!
