MoviesAshutosh Gowarikar’s periodical drama Panipat has won millions of hearts after his successful historical movie Jodhaa Akbar. Panipat completes 2 years in the industry on December 6
Panipat film is inspired by the Third Battle of Panipat, which took place in 1761 and stars Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in main roles, with Sanjay Dutt as the enemy. Ashutosh Gowarikar’s periodical drama Panipat has won millions of hearts after his successful periodical movie Jodhaa Akbar.
Maratha armies are headed by the commander-in-chief Sadashivrao Bhau (Arjun Kapoor), along with the Peshwa heir and nephew Vishwasrao (Abhishek Nigam), his cousin Shamsher Bahadur (Sahil Salathia), and a Muslim aide Ibrahim Khan Gardi as they take against the Afghan invader Ahmad Shah Abdali (Sanjay Dutt). Meanwhile, Najib ud-Daula is supporting Abdali (Mantra). To avoid historical inaccuracies, Gowarikar sticks as closely to the truth as possible, taking just a few cinematic liberties.
The film persuades with a clear story that focuses on the economic, political, and social consequences of war. The characters are well-developed, the language is snappy, and the meticulous precision brings life in Hindostan during the eighteenth century to life in a genuine manner. The epic fight, with tremendous choreography, magnificent costumes, and some graphic brutality, is still the film’s centerpiece.
Arjun Kapoor gives an honest performance. He blends into the role so well that it’s difficult to tell the actor apart from the Maratha warrior he’s portrayed as. Some of his greatest images are from battle situations. Arjun’s hard effort is evident in everything he does, from his appearance to his dress to his speech and sword fighting moments.
Panipat uses superbly choreographed and well-synchronized dance scenes to counteract the conflict and political intrigues. Even though song-and-dance seems out of place in the circumstance, you like seeing them for the grandeur. Ajay and Atul’s tunes add to the atmosphere.
On the work front, Kriti Sanon has several intriguing projects in the works, including Adipurush, Bachchan Pandey, Bhediya, and Ganapath as she was also seen in a film that was released on the digital platform.
