Alia Bhatt Gets Declared As The PETA Person Of The Year 2021; Fans Are Super Proud

Alia Bhatt used her platform to advocate support for animals and often uses her voice for animal rights. She has been an inspiration for many and encourages people to adopt animal-friendly fashion. Alia was named as the PETA’s 2021 person of the year for her work in support of the animal-friendly fashion industry.

PETA’s India Director of Celebrity and Public Relations, Sachin Bangera said, “Alia Bhatt is not only helping to advance vegan fashion but also encouraging the next generation to be kind to animals. Alia doesn’t hesitate to speak up, whether she’s rallying her fans to adopt a dog or cat or calling for action on crimes against animals.”

Alia’s vegan kidswear line, Ed-a-Mamma, won a 2021 PETA India fashion award for helping to nurture kids’ love for nature and animals. She shared a picture of a kid and herself from her clothing line photo shoot on the beach, and captioned the picture, “We are all children of mother Earth (happy environment day 💚)”

Alia had also invested in Phool, the company behind ‘Fleather’. It means vegan leather made from discarded temple flowers, which is a great initiative. Alia said that she admired the founder’s vision of making incense and bio-leather from recycled flowers. She also said that this initiative created a humane alternative to leather and provided employment to women in India.

She is known to advocate support for cats and dogs and uses her voice to call for stronger animal protection laws. She was also starred in a pro-adoption ‘People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India’ campaign to help felines and canines.

On various occasions, Alia shared pictures on Instagram with her pets. She has two cats, Edward and Juniper, and describes her bond with them as eternal. She also had a third cat, Sheeba, who passed away and Alia took it to Instagram and penned down beautiful words for her. Her boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor has two dogs and she loves to spend time with them.
