Prakash Raj Birthday Special: Shoot-out at Alair, Bodyguard and other films where he proved his mettle

On Prakash Raj’s 56th birthday, let us revisit some of his films that prove that his talent is limitless!

From his character of Size Zero Satyanand in the Anushka Shetty and Arya starrer Size Zero to the role of a controlling father as Aravind in the Genelia and Siddharth starrer Bommarillu,  Prakash Raj has a filmography as diverse as it can be. On his 56th birthday, let us celebrate some of his best performances that we still cherish.

1) Shootout At Alair

In Shootout At Alair, Prakash Raj plays the role of DSP Suryanarayana, who is motivated to get rid of all the sleeper cells that cause a threat to the city. Along with IG Praveen Chand played by Meka Srikanth, he manages to do away with a good part of the problem caused by Akhtar Ahmed played by Teja Kakumanu, and his group who attack police officers.

2) Size Zero

Prakash Raj plays the role of Size Zero Satyanand in Anushka Shetty and Arya starrer Size Zero. The story revolves around Soundarya, an overweight girl, who loves Abhishek but her dreams are shattered when she finds that Abhishek loves Simran. Accepting the fact that her weight is the issue, Soundarya joins a weight loss programme but soon finds the side effects of such programmes. Prakash Raj as Satyanand will entertain you throughout the duration of the film.

3) Balupu

Balupu starring Anjali, Ravi Teja, Shruti Haasan, and Prakash Raj revolves around Ravi, a bank collection personnel, whose friend is duped by a girl named Shruti and her uncle who is played by Prakash Raj. Ravi decides to teach them a lesson and tries to trap Shruti in his love. Will Ravi achieve his goal or would he get trapped himself is the story ahead. Prakash Raj will make you laugh whenever he is on screen.

4) Bodyguard

Bodyguard starring Prakash Raj, Trisha, and Venkatesh, revolves around Venkatadri, a bodyguard, who is assigned to protect Varadarajula Naidu played by Prakash Raj and his family, including his daughter Keerthi. However, their lives take a dramatic turn when Keerthi poses as a stranger and starts talking to Venkatadri to get rid of him, eventually falling in love with him. Prakash Raj’s acting prowess is the highlight of this movie!

5) Mirapakay

Mirapakay starring Ravi Teja, Prakash Raj, Richa Gangopadhyay, and Deeksha Seth, revolves around police officer Rishi who is asked to disguise as a college teacher for an undercover operation. Rishi falls in love with Vinamra but his seniors want him to flirt with Vaishali, the daughter of a local don who is played by Prakash Raj. From Comedy to intense scenes, Prakash Raj has pulled off everything in this movie!

6) Sainikudu

Sainikudu starring Trisha Krishnan, Mahesh Babu, and Prakash Raj, revolves around Siddharth and his friends who go to help a flood-ravaged village. There, they learn that relief material meant for flood victims is taken elsewhere and sold. They manage to save the material from going into the wrong hands.  Prakash Raj plays the role of Mondi Nani and he will make sure you are his fan, after watching this one.

7) Bommarillu

Prakash Raj plays the role of  Aravind, Siddu’s father in the Genelia and Siddharth starrer Bommarillu. There is no way you can forget the iconic climax scene between the father and son. This movie created its own cult following. You just cannot miss this movie if you are a Prakash Raj fan.

8) Bhageeratha

Bhageeratha stars Prakash Raj, Ravi Teja, and Shriya Saran. After Bullabai, president of Krishna island, pays Venkata, his IAS friend, played by Prakash Raj crores of rupees to build a bridge to his village island, his greed for money makes him delay the project for 20 years. However, things turn problematic for Venkata after Chandu, son of Bullabai, decides to teach him a befitting lesson. Prakash Raj perfectly pulls off this role with grey shades.
