For many people, surrogacy has become a favoured method of childbirth. Although this method of producing a kid through the womb of a third party has had its ups and downs in Indian culture and law, it has acquired some acknowledgment and acceptability. Surrogacy for children has grown more frequent in India than it was a few years ago. The rising adoption of this strategy is shown in its portrayal in Indian cinema. Surrogacy is steadily finding its way into Indian homes, beginning with the film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke and Mimi who aims at giving out strong messages on surrogacy.

PREITY ZINTA AND GENE GOODENOUGH

Preity Zinta’s announcement of her new role about parenthood has surprised her fans. The actress has turned to be the mom of twins- a boy and a girl. Preity Zinta revealed on Instagram that she and her husband Gene Goodenough have welcomed their children through surrogacy. She also announced the names of her children: Jai is the boy’s name, whereas Gia is the girl’s.

EKTA KAPOOR

Ekta Kapoor, a film and television producer, welcomed her son via surrogacy in January 2019. The producer of Balaji Telefilms became a single mother through surrogacy. Tusshar Kapoor, Ekta’s brother, was also a surrogate father before her. Kapoor revealed in an interview with one of the leading portals, that her life has changed and her son Laksshaya is one of the most important things in her life transformed.

SHILPA SHETTY AND RAJ KUNDRA

The couple revealed in 2020 that they had welcomed their second child through surrogacy and have welcomed a baby girl. Shilpa Shetty shared the news on social media, writing, “We are happy to announce the arrival of our daughter Samisha Shetty.” The actress also explained the meaning of her name, which translates to “someone like God.”

SHAHRUKH KHAN AND GAURI KHAN

Actor In 2013, Shah Rukh Khan announced the birth of his son AbRam, revealing that he was born via surrogacy. He thanked AbRam’s surrogate mother, the doctor, and the team who helped make it happen in the statement.

KARAN JOHAR

Karan Johar, a producer, and director announced in March 2017 that he had become a father to twins through surrogacy. The actor announced the addition of his babies in an emotional post on his Twitter account. Johar honored the surrogate mother of his twins and the doctor who made the surrogacy possible in his Instagram picture. He said in his post that he had made an emotional but well-considered decision after contemplating all of the obligations and responsibilities that come with becoming a parent.

KIRAN RAO- AAMIR KHAN

Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan welcomed their baby Aazad Rao Khan through surrogacy in 2011. Khan stated in an interview after revealing the news that they would have been questioned about it anyhow since they were in the public spotlight and they never felt defensive about the choice. They were one of the first famous couples to make their decision to use surrogacy publicly. Kiran had endured a miscarriage and uterine difficulties, which was the basis for their decision. Aamir has two children from his previous marriage to Reena, Junaid, and Ira. In December 2011, he and Kiran welcomed Azad into their life.

SUNNY LEONE AND DANIEL WEBER

Nisha, a newborn girl, was adopted by the couple. Through surrogacy, they soon became parents to twin boys Noah and Asher. On March 5, 2018, Weber announced the news to his followers via social media. He also gave a sneak peek at their twins. Sunny and Daniel have now published several photos of their children, Asher Singh Weber, Noah Singh Weber, and Nisha Kaur Weber, on social media.
