Priyanka Chopra Expresses Her Condolences As Sindhutai Sapkal Passes Away

Sindhutai Sapkal, commonly known as the mother of orphans died on January 4, 2022, in what was the saddest news of the year. She had been unwell for a long time and was admitted to the hospital, where she passed away due to a heart attack. Everyone was taken aback by Sindhutai Sapkal’s death, which triggered a wave of mourning around the country. Sapkal, popularly known as ‘Mai’ to the uninitiated, maintained an orphanage in Pune and it had rescued around 1500 orphan children.
While people from different walks of life grieve her death, Priyanka Chopra took to social media to offer her respects to the Padma Shri laureate. Priyanka uploaded a monochrome photo of Sindhutai on her Instagram account, along with a statement honouring Sindhutai’s legacy and life. The note that followed described Sindhutai’s journey to becoming a mother to nearly 1500 orphan children. Sindhutai Sapkal shaped her extraordinary life from a tragic setback to care for thousands of abandoned kids, providing them with food, a house and hope.
Because of domestic abuse, Mai fled her marital home and sought refuge in railway stations and graves, where she had to turn to beg to make ends meet. This predicament caused her to sympathize with orphans and homeless children, launching her on a lovely lifelong journey of taking care of kids in need. In 2021, she will be awarded the Padma Shri.

Sapkal was recently honoured by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Dr Sindhutai Sapkal will be cherished for her honourable service to society, he said. She will impart many lessons in their life that will change their life as a result of her efforts. She also worked extensively with marginalized groups. PM Modi also expressed his sadness at her death in his letter. Condolences to her loved ones and family. Speaking about Priyanka’s work front, she will next be seen in the movie Jee Le Zaraa, which also features Alia Bhatt as well as Katrina Kaif, following acting with Farhan Akhtar in The Sky Is Pink. Zoya Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, and Farhan Akhtar will produce the film, which will be scripted by Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, and Reema Kagti.
