Priyanka Chopra Sets Up A COVID-19 Fundraiser For India

Priyanka Chopra requests her fans and followers to donate to her fundraiser to help India during its tough time.

Several Bollywood actors have been trying their best to help Indian citizens during the COVID-19 crisis. Priyanka Chopra who is currently living in London with her husband has also been trying to reach out to several people for help. She has been urging people to help India in some way or the other. The actor recently set up a COVID-19 fundraiser to help the patients in the country.

Priyanka Chopra sets up a COVID-19 fundraiser 

Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra recently took to her Instagram handle to announce that she has set up a COVID-19 fundraiser to help her country. She mentioned that she partnered with GiveIndia to provide COVID relief to India. She wrote, “India, my home, is suffering the world’s worst Covid crisis, and we all need to help! People are dying in record numbers. There is illness everywhere, and it’s only continuing to spread and kill at great speed and scale.” She is sitting in London and hearing her friends and family talk about the situation in India and has been feeling helpless ever since.

She mentioned that she is aware of how there are no beds and the hospitals are in full capacity. Her family also informed her about the scarcity of oxygen supply in the country. There are mass cremations happening in the country and mentioned that her country is bleeding. She mentioned that everyone globally has to care about the same. She added that unless everyone is safe no one is safe.

Priyanka further mentioned, “Whatever you can spare, truly makes a difference. Nearly 63 million people follow me on here, if even 100,000 of you donate $10, that’s $1 Million, and that’s huge.” The donation will directly go to the healthcare physical infrastructure that includes Covid care centres, Isolation centres, and oxygen generation plants, medical equipment, and vaccine support and mobilization. She added that she and Nick have donated their share and urged all her followers to do the same.
