How many times has it happened that 6 PM rolls around and it’s evening already– too early for dinner but you’re hungry and fancy a delicious snack to tide you over till then? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with these yummy meals from Rannaghar you can whip up in no time. They’re easy to make, and just the right choice to sate yourself in between meals with!
1. Phuchka
Ingredients:
- Semolina
- Flour
- Refined oil
- Potato
- Onion
- Salt
- Tamarind
- Sugar
- Coriander
- Lemon juice
Method:
To make phuchka, first mix a half cup of semolina, 2 tablespoons flour, some water, and make a dough. Shape into little balls and roll out. Fry these in a deep pan of hot refined oil, and keep aside. Pop a hole into each shell and fill with mashed and spiced potatoes. Serve with a bowl of tangy tamarind water to dip in and eat! This popular street food snack is an eternal favourite.
2. Charpa
Ingredients:
- Mutton
- Garlic paste
- Ginger paste
- Chilli powder
- Coriander powder
- Salt
- Pepper
- Onion
- Boiled potato
- Sugar
- Rice flour
- Mustard oil
Method:
Mix minced mutton, garlic paste, ginger paste, chilli powder, coriander powder, pepper, salt, chopped onions, grated boiled potato, sugar to taste, rice flour, and mustard oil in a bowl thoroughly. Take a piece and flatten with your hands with some mustard oil and rice flour. Fry these in hot mustard oil in a pan. Serve on a plate with onion rings and crushed coriander leaves. Enjoy while hot!
