Ranveer Singh Starrer ’83 May Also Have An English Version, Read Deets

Believe it or not, but ever since Prabhas starrer Baahubali hit the theatres, it opened new doors for the showbiz. The massive success of Baahubali proved if the makers take a step forward to wider the reach of their film, they can bag huge profits. It seems that the makers have learnt the formula to remove the language barrier for better performance of their film. And, the most recent film to join the bandwagon is Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone‘s upcoming sports-drama ’83. If reports floating online are something to go by, then along with Hindi, the makers are also considering to release it in the English language.

For the unversed, the Kabir Khan directorial is a biopic based on the 1983 World Cup win. The film focuses on the life of Indian cricketer Kapil Dev. The legendary cricketer has a massive fandom across the globe. And the story of his triumph at the 1983 World Cup is of interest to his fans across the world. Owing to this, an international English version of 83 is being considered. The reports state that the film is being prepared in the English language as well as the original in Hindi.

Talking about the film, it is one of the most-awaited Bollywood films of this year. The film was slated to release in 2020. However, the global pandemic turned the table as the theatres were shut to curb the spread of COVID-19. Later, it was rumoured that the film will release on Christmas 2020, as the lockdown restriction started lifting. But, in November, the makers refused these speculations. It was stated that the makers are looking at the January and March windows in 2021. However, so far, no official announcement regarding the film’s release date has been made.

On the other hand, the ensemble star cast of the film features a handful of popular actors. Punjabi actor-singers Harrdy Sandhu and Ammy Virk will play pivotal characters in the film. Meanwhile, Boman Irani and Pankaj Tripathi will also portray significant characters in the film.
