With theatres now operating at 100 per cent occupancy, the famous production house Yash Raj rolled out the release date of five movies to mark its 50th year of operations. Now, when the release date of Yash Raj’s movies has come forward it appears that this year will witness Bollywood’s mega clashes at the box office. As the COVID-19 lockdown halted the release of many Bollywood films last year, Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi and Ranveer Singh’s 83 release dates were postponed.
As per reports, Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi will hit the silver screen in April. Whereas Ranveer Singh’s ’83 is all set to be out in the month of June. However, with YRF announcing Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera in the month of June, we can expect RK Jr and Ranveer to lock horns at the box office. Reportedly, Ranveer Singh’s ’83 and Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera are likely to be pitted against each other in the month of June this year.
As per a leading daily, ’83 might get a release just a week before Shamshera. However, nothing about the same have been confirmed officially and fans are desperately waiting for both Sooryavanshi and ’83 to get a release date. While ’83 traces the victory of Indian Cricket Team in the 1983 World Cup, Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera is set in the era of 1800.
It chronicles the life of a dacoit tribe who took charge in the fight for their rights and independence against the British Raj. ’83 sees Ranveer Singh essaying the role of former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev. Whereas, Shamshera will feature Ranbir Kapoor in a double role for the very first time. Both films have something unique to bring to the audiences and now with the clash rumours picking up pace, fans are left in a state of frenzy. Only time will decide which movie will emerge victorious if they ever pitted against each other.
