Review Year 2021: 5 Times Bollywood Celebs Effectively And Unstoppably Shut Down Trolls
BollywoodWhile Bollywood stars get a lot of love from fans, they also have to face some haters. These haters leave no stone unturned to troll Bollywood celebs but these celebs know how to set them right too
Trolls are a part of the internet and celebrities are often the target of such mean comments. Sometimes, those trolls are offensive and that’s when celebs take the matter into their own hand. Here are a few celebrities who shut down the trolls effectively.
1. Disha Patani
Disha Patani has captivating and sharp looks and many fans love how she carries herself. But, Disha has been trolled quite often for her dressing style. What we absolutely adore about her is her style and her way of giving the perfect reply to the haters. A few years ago, Disha wore a stunning and bold dress to the Filmfare award show for which she was shamed. People called the dress too revealing and not according to ‘Indian customs’. Disha spoke about it with a leading daily during an interview and said, “I really don’t pay attention and not knowing these people certainly helps. There are so many frustrated people online who are not happy with their lives and are evil enough to say bad things about people who they don’t even know.” And we completely agree with her!
2. Dia Mirza
Dia Mirza has faced a lot of mean comments when she announced her pregnancy after getting married in February 2021. Dia and her husband had a woman priest officiating their wedding and she praised for breaking the stereotypes. When people started to troll and question Dia for marrying only because she was having a baby, she shut down the trolls by disclosing that they were already getting married and came to know about the pregnancy during the wedding ceremonies. She also urged the society to “unstereotype the idea of what is right and what is wrong instead of training people to ask what is fair and what is unfair”.
3. Varun Dhawan
Varun Dhawan who was shooting for his upcoming movie ‘Bhediya’ in Arunachal Pradesh flew back to Mumbai in April. He was spotted at the airport with his wife Natasha. He requested the paparazzi to maintain distance adhering to Covid protocols as a precautionary measure. Varun asked a photographer to put on the face mask properly to which people on social media pointed that he was showing off his “privilege”. He was accused on an Instagram post of vacationing with his wife and showing hypocrisy at the airport to which he replied “Well, your assumption is wrong. I was shooting my film and not on holiday. And what do you mean ‘Gave them a chance?’ How do you not give them a chance? I have people who have also lost their life in covid. So please keep your assumptions to yourself.” We stand by Varun for requesting distance and asking people to follow covid protocols.
4. Ranveer Singh
Ranveer Singh is known for his quirky and eccentric sense of style. Many haters refer to him as a joker for wearing colorful and lively clothes. During one of his Instagram lives, the actor was surprised when he noticed there were a lot of hate comments flooding in regarding his style but also about random belittling things. However, Ranveer did not hesitate to clap back to his haters. In response, he said, “Do you people not have some work or responsibilities to take care of? You should go and do something else rather than interfering in my life.”
5. Tiger Shroff
Tiger Shroff is the son of a famous Bollywood personality, Jackie Shroff. Tiger made his debut in the industry with ‘Heropanti’ in 2014. He is often faced with several trolls and criticisms for his looks, acting skills and also constantly questioned about his sexuality and gender which is very disrespectful. Tiger Shroff was asked about how he handles the trolls in a chat show ‘pinch’ season 2 where he said that, “When it comes to trolling, it is at times scary how a nameless, faceless individual could say anything about anybody without getting caught!” People have trolled him for not having facial hair to which his father, Jackie, commented that just because he is a son does not mean that he has to have facial hair. Tiger Shroff also stated that there are fans that love him and as long as he is loved and supported by them, he does not care about trolls.
