After the event was cancelled last year due to the pandemic, fans are expecting the grand return of Rihanna to the Met.

The Met Gala is all set to take place next week after being postponed due to the pandemic. The Queen of the Met herself, Rihanna has sparked rumours on Instagram that she will be hosting the after-party to the glitzy event! She captioned the picture: “If you are planning a MET Ball after-party…………..don’t.” After the event was canceled last year due to the pandemic, fans are expecting the grand return of Rihanna to the Met. Every year, a different theme is chosen and it is open to the guests for interpretation. Rihanna has a successful history of bedazzling the event and the theme every single time.

The rage in 2018

Back in 2018, Rihanna was all over the internet for her Met Gala after-party. It was hosted in the club Up & Down, 14th Street. The pictures included everyone from Sean Combs and Cassie (both of whom had a  wardrobe change) to Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh. SNL’s latest host Donald Glover was also seen along with Jaden Smith and Wiz Khalifa. Met Gala debutante Sabrina Dhowre and newlyweds Emily Ratajkowski and Sebastian Bear-McClard were also part of it. In accordance with her Instagram username, Bad Gal Riri rocked the party well into the morning.

When one recalls Rihanna’s Met Gala outfits, she has had some huge memorable appearances on the red carpet. In the “2015 China: Through the Looking Glass” outfit, the incredible yellow coat is etched in every fashion enthusiast’s memory. The way it cascaded down the steps of the Met, arguably justifies the same.

The gala is taking place four months later than it was planned. The theme this year is American Fashion, and the dress code would be “American Independence.”

Music and singing are clearly Rihanna’s one of many successful arenas. Her makeup chain started in 2017, Fenty Beauty made Rihanna rich and turned heads in the beauty and fashion world. According to Forbes, the Barbados-born singer and entrepreneur is now a billionaire. Currently, Rihanna is worth $1.7 billion, Forbes estimates, making her the richest female musician in the world and second only to Oprah Winfrey as the richest female entertainer.
