Rihanna finds billionaire title ‘terrifying and scary’, wants to be remembered for who she is

Rihanna aka RiRi as lovingly called by fans, recently celebrated the launch of her Fenty lingerie brand, following the huge success of her beauty and fashion lines. And she was queried about her newly acquired status of “billionaire” during the ceremony. If you didn’t know, the 33-year-old singer and entrepreneur was named a billionaire by Forbes last month as a result of her Fenty fashion and cosmetics companies, as well as her singing career.

Rihanna is reportedly worth USD 1.7 billion, making her the world’s wealthiest female musician and the second-wealthiest female entertainment behind Oprah Winfrey, according to Forbes.

Rihanna opened up about ‘Billionaire status’

RiRi admitted that her new title is terrifying and scary to her while discussing it. She claims she is constantly thinking about it. Rihanna also stated that she does not want to feel like she is on a pedestal and that she wants to feel her feet on the ground since she knows she will not fall. She doesn’t want to be known as an icon, money-wise and instead wants to remember who she is.

Despite this, the singer expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to empower young women. But she thinks it’s worth it because she’s influencing other women, and that’s exactly what she wants. During the conference, she also stated that this is what she strives for, where people are driven to work for a better life. She claims she wants to learn from her followers as well as the other way around. She has a lot to learn, and we can do this if we work well together.

The Barbados-born entrepreneur owns a 50% stake in her business. The other half is owned by LVMH, a French luxury goods corporation. Savage x Fenty, Rihanna’s lingerie line, is also worth an estimated $270 million.

The only gripe some fans may have about her career as a fashion and cosmetics tycoon is that it keeps her occupied. The singer hasn’t published a new album since 2016’s Anti, which she used to do every year.
