We lost a legend in the form of S. P. Balasubramaniam in the last quarter of 2020, but we know for sure that his music and his voice will live on forever. Although the legendary singer is remembered lovingly by every musician in the country, contestant and singer Chaitanya from Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Next Singing Icon, gave him a soulful tribute that got everyone including singer Kalpana to tears.

He was the last singer to perform on the stage for the episode and ended it on the high note that it deserved. Singing the highly regarded S.P. Balasubramaniam number ‘Ghal Ghal’ , he got singer Kalpana to shed tears, remembering the legendary Balu sir. She went on to say that she had never cried when she lost her father but her heart broke when the country lost such a celebrated singer. She added that she loved Chaitanya’s performance and that it was fantastic.

Chaitanya’s performance was also highly appreciated by the judges and the jury members. He was definitely the cherry on the cake for the episode and took all breaths away with his performance. He did his best to live up to the song’s expectations and the audience thoroughly enjoyed it. The fact that he could remind Kalpana of S.P. Balasubramaniam speaks volumes of his performance that cannot be missed at any cost!
