Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt And Others Join Randhir Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor For Rajiv Kapoor’s Last Rites

On Tuesday, the Kapoor family gathered to bid adieu to Rajiv Kapoor, who died of a cardiac arrest on February 9. As per the below video, Rajiv’s nephew Ranbir Kapoor and brother Randhir Kapoor led the funeral procession. Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor led the last journey of his younger brother, while Ranbir shouldered to his uncle’s mortal remains. Rajiv Kapoor’s last rites were performed at Chembur crematorium in Mumbai.

In the above video, Rajiv Kapoor’s family members including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Aadar Jain, and Armaan Jain among others arrived at the late actor’s home to pay their last respect. Later, Ranbir’s girlfriend Alia Bhatt and Aadar’s girlfriend Tara Sutaria also joined them to mourn the loss of the family. On the other hand, actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Chunky Panday, Ashutosh Gowariker, and Sonali Bendre, among many others, were also snapped at his Chembur home.

Meanwhile, a section of Bollywood celebs took to their respective social media handle to expresses the grief over Rajiv’s death. On Twitter Akshay Kumar wrote, “Saddened to hear about the untimely demise of #RajivKapoor ji. My deepest condolences to the entire family”. Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt asserted, “Absolutely heartbroken to hear about the demise of Rajiv Kapoor. A soul gone too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with the Kapoor family in this difficult time. Om Shanti (sic)”.

Rajiv was the youngest son of late Raj and Krishna Kapoor. In 1983, Rajiv made his acting debut with Ek Jaan Hain Hum. But, it was 1985’s release, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, which gained him immense popularity. However, the success was short span as post Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Rajiv’s films failed to attract the footfalls on the Box-Office.

after giving back to back average films, Rajiv tried his hand in production and direction. He marked his directorial debut with 1996’s PremGranth, which featured his brother Rishi Kapoor alongside Madhuri Dixit. Later, the late actor led a private life away from the limelight.
