Actor Sharman Joshi is known for his brilliant work in Hindi films. He made his acting debut with Godmother, which released in 1999. He is known for his power-packed performances in hit movies including Rang De Basanti, Golmaal, Life In A Metro, Dhol, 3 Idiots, Ferrari Ki Sawaari, Hate Story 3, Mission Mangal among others.

Sharma turns 41 years old on 28 April 2020. The talented actor is currently seen playing the role of Anuj in the ZEE5 series Baarish, along with Asha Negi. On his special day, let’s take a look at some of Sharman’s best movies that are a must watch.

1. Kaashi in Search of Ganga

Kaashi in Search of Ganga was released in 2018 and was directed by Dhiraj Kumar. The movie stars Sharman Joshi and Aishwarya Devan in lead roles. Sharman essays the role of Kaashi Chaudhary, who is involved in performing crematorium rituals. The suspense thriller drama was set in Varanasi, and the film is about how a distressed brother goes in search of his sister. Sharman beautifully brings alive the bond between a brother and a sister in the film.

2. Golmaal: Fun Unlimited

This is a Hindi comedy which featured Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Sharman Joshi, Tusshar Kapoor, Rimi Sen and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles.Sharman received the Filmfare Award, for best performance in a comic role, for his role in the film. The actor played the role of Laxman in the film and tickled the audience’s funny bones with his hilarious one-liners. The movie was a super hit among viewers.

3. Super Naani

Super Naani is a 2014 Hindi drama, starring Rekha and Sharman Joshi in the lead roles. The story of the film revolves around Bharti, an elderly homemaker who goes to great lengths to do things for her family. Bharti’s grandson, Mann comes to meet her and realises that his grandmother’s efforts are unappreciated by their family. Mann decides to make his family realise their mistake. Sharman has always chosen good scripts that have a great moral value. Majority of his films have taught the audience valuable lessons of life. In this movie, Sharman teaches us how each member of a family is important.

4. Style

Style is a 2001 Hindi comedy, starring Sharman Joshi and Sahil Khan in lead roles. The film was highly appreciated. After the successful run at the theaters, the makers decided to make a sequel to the film, titled Xcuse Me, which was released in 2003. Sharman essays the role of Bantu a prankster in the movie and is very entertaining. The film was directed by N. Chandra.

5. Rang De Basanti

Rang De Basanti was released in 2006. Written, directed and produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the movie starred Aamir Khan, Siddharth Suryarayan, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, and Atul Kulkarni in lead roles. The movie did exceedingly well at the box office, and became the highest-grossing film. The story of the movie was about Indian freedom fighters and patriotism. Sharman played the role of Sukhi Ram / Shivaram Rajguru in the film. Sharman’s simplicity shown in the movie won hearts.

6. 3 idiots

Rajkumar Hirani directed 3 idiots featured Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani and Omi Vaidya in lead roles. The storyline of the movie was about the social pressures in the Indian education system. The movie received appreciation from the audience and critics alike and it also broke all the net records. The movie received six Filmfare awards. In this movie, Sharman essayed the role of Raju Rastogi who belongs to a middle class family, and has the responsibility of his entire family on his shoulders. Sharman as Raju, shows us how it is important to have friends in life, friends who push us to do better.
