Shruti Haasan, who has previously discussed going to therapy, has opened up about her parents Kamal and Sarika’s attitude to it. Kamal and Sarika were really supportive

Shruti Haasan, who has been upfront about her mental health difficulties, discussed her parents’ reaction to her going to treatment. She is the daughter of Kamal Haasan and Sarika, both actors. Shruti stated in an interview that when she informed them about it, they questioned her, what did we do?

Of course, all parents initially take it personally. Shruti’s parents are quite liberal and enlightened, and they realised that counselling is, of course, fantastic. But what if she needs therapy? How come, what did they do? They take everything personally, as per Shruti.

Shruti claims that whenever someone recommends going to couples counselling to focus on their relationship, their spouse wonders, what did I do wrong? She believes that occurs even with parents, and it’s a lot about saying that all need to participate equally to messing up and repairing things, and it’s a lot about saying, we need this. Even with Shruti’s parents, she was like, She needs this, it’s not about them, she was not asking them to go to treatment, on the contrary she was going to therapy. Kamal and Sarika were really supportive. Shruti made her Bollywood debut in the 2009 film Luck, alongside Imran Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, and others. She has appeared in several Hindi films, including Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, Gabbar Is Back, Welcome Back, and Behen Hogi Teri. She is also well-known in the Tamil and Telugu cinema industries, having starred in films such as Balupu, Srimanthudu, and Vedalam.
