When the clock struck noon on April 29 2020, a sad piece of news covered the nation in disbelief. One of Hindi cinema’s greatest actor Irrfan Khan breathed his last in a plush hospital in Mumbai. On April 28, the actor had been admitted to ICU due to the colon infection. “Surrounded by his love, his family for whom he most cared about, he left for heavenly abode, leaving behind truly a legacy of his own.”, the official statement from his spokesperson read.
The actor was detected with a rare type of cancer, earlier in 2018. He defeated all the speculations and returned home in good health, almost after two years. Post returning, he also completed a film which was on hold due to his ill health. The film, Homi Adjania’s Angrezi Medium, released on March 13, 2020, only a week before a nation-wide lockdown was announced. Family, friends, fans and the members of film fraternity share their sadness over his untimely demise.
