Sidharth Malhotra Starrer ‘Shershaah’ To Premiere This Independence Week On OTT

Though there have been many Bollywood films based on the epic Kargil War, another cinematic version is on the way. Yes, we are talking about the Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Sherhaah’. After being postponed due to the pandemic, the film will now have a direct OTT release. Backed by Dharma Productions, Shershaah is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Videos this Independence week. The film is slated to release on August 12, 2021. 

Well, fans have been eagerly waiting for the release of Shershaah. And yesterday, the makers teased them, sharing the first glimpse of this war drama. From the short-teaser, we can say that Shershaah will be one of the big-scale war films made in recent times. Being a homage to the Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra, the film offers a refreshing side of the epic war. Actor Sidharth Malhotra underwent heavy training sessions to get into his role. And it definitely seems to have paid off!

Sharing the first glimpse, Dharma productions announced the release date of the film. “With immense gratitude and pride in our hearts, marking the beginning of this journey. Presenting the legendary story of Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) with #ShershaahOnPrime, coming out on 12th August only on @PrimeVideoIN,” the tweet read. Fans were delighted with the news and are referring to the film as Sidharth’s “great comeback”.

Unlike other war dramas of current times, Shershaah seems to have dropped off the ‘sensational’ side of the story. As seen in the teaser, there are no over-the-top dialogues and the film seems to be true to its biographical genre. And this aspect is being loved by the audiences.

Shershaah will also mark Sidharth Malhotra’s another action-filled project. Earlier, the actor had led films like Aiyaary, A Gentleman, Marjaavaan, and many others. However, these films opened up to mixed reviews, and thus, fans have higher expectations from Shershaah.

Apart from Sidharth, the film also stars  Shiv Pandit, Raj Arjun, and Pawan Chopra in pivotal roles.
