Singer Shaan Splits Beans On Struggles He Has Been Through To Sing Aamir Khan And Sanjay Dutt’s Song

In the entertainment industry, there are very few singers who we remember for a long time. One among them is Shaan, who is celebrating his 49th birthday today. Interestingly, Shaan had a tough time while cracking the right vocals for Chand Sifarish in Fanaa (2006). It happened when every time he tried to record it, he would end up copying Udit Narayan.

While talking to a leading portal Shaan said that Chand Sifarish was his first song for Bollywood actor Aamir Khan. He said that he didn’t know why he kept singing it like Udit Narayan. He went on to add that it happened maybe because he had attempted voice on Aamir Khan.
Shaan said that he had to consciously make an attempt not to sing like him.

The birthday boy, Shaan been an important part of India’s music industry for the past three decades. He has sung nearly 3000 songs across languages. His most popular numbers are for Saif Ali Khan and Abhishek Bachchan. According to Shaan, his voice matches a lot with Saif. Even he is glad he got to record the remix of Dus Bahane for Baaghi 3.

Now let’s come to the title track of Lage Raho Munna Bhai, it was also a tough time for the singer and the reason was another singer named Vinod Rathod. Shaan let go of a song because he couldn’t get its sound right. Vinod Rathod was a regular voice for Sanjay Dutt. He has even sung for his film’s signature Munna Bhai MBBS tone. Hence, it became difficult for Shaan to strike the note.

Shaan talked to a leading news portal about it, he said that while recording Bole Toh Bole, he tried to keep his voice a bit heavy in Sanjay Dutt’s style. But Vidhu Vinod Chopra kept telling him to try it differently. He thought doing his mimicry would look odd. Shaan tried really hard to crack it but had to give up. Shaan lost out on that song, and was eventually sung by Rathod.
