Sooryavanshi Box-office Collections Week 1: Akshay Kumar And Katrina Kaif Starrer Cross Rs 176 crore; Rohit Shetty Directorial Sets Benchmark

Sooryavanshi was one of the most-anticipated films by director Rohit Shetty. The film starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles was released in theatres on November 5. Since the day of release, the film is making noise at the box office. As the theatres have reopened after a long interval, the audience is making sure that they watch the film on the large screens only. As a result, the box office collection of Sooryavanshi is growing up and up.

The film has been making a buzz at the ticket window for the last six days and has already crossed 100 crore club. Interestingly, the film held uptight on the seventh day then it crossed a whole Rs 176 crore mark. Rohit Shetty’s directorial Sooryavanshi is the fourth film from Shetty’s cop universe. Reportedly, on Day 7, the film’s overall box office collection reached Rs 174.65 crore. Looking at the overall reports, Sooryavanshi has been doing well in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Despite only 50% occupancy being allowed owing to the pandemic in Maharashtra. Speaking about the film its theatrical release was postponed twice due to the pandemic. Sooryavanshi’s first song, Aila Re Aillaa, was released on October 21 and became the most viewed song in 24 hours. The film also featured Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh reprising their cop’s characters in films like Singham and Simmba.
