Countless women have set brilliant examples for others and inspired them with their successes in life. Their talent, hard work and determination have helped them constantly grow and rise higher, whether it is with regards to their personal or professional life. Ahead of Women’s Day 2021, the Hamariwali Good News actor, Srishti Jain in her interaction with ZEE5 opened up about her take on womanhood and spoke about her professional journey and experiences in detail.

Srishti’s journey of becoming an actor

Recently, the actor got candid in a chat with us, wherein we asked her about the various obstacles she had to overcome on her way to achieving her dreams. Wishing all the women a very Happy Women’s Day 2021, Srishti shared her story of becoming an actor. She revealed that she felt inspired to be an actor from a very young age of around five after watching Kareena Kapoor Khan dance to Maine Koi Jadoo Nahin Kiya. However, upon growing up, like most people, Srishti realised that achieving dreams is not very easy. Everything comes with certain barriers of its own and a lot of efforts were required to achieve her dream.

Srishti further added that a lot of hard work has to be put in by a person due to the immense competition that awaits them. While a viewer or an audience only consumes the end result and witnesses the glammed up performances, it requires a lot of dedication and consistency from the performers like Srishti herself. Srishti also stated that although she believes the nation has made some progress, it still contains a lot of gender inequality issues, especially in the media industry.

Overcoming her barriers

Going into further details, the actor stated that only after witnessing her drive and passion for the art, is when her own parents began supporting her. While she gave several auditions, starting at the mere age of 16, it was a long time before she succeeded at bagging a substantial project. From being asked to give up her dreams by others to almost giving up on herself at a point, Srishti went through it all during her struggling days. While being a woman can come with various challenges such as hormonal issues or sensitivity towards hatred, she did not let the negative aspects of the journey get the best of her ever.

Srishti’s advice for other women

While she admitted to being a tad bit sensitive to the negativity that her dream job comes with, she also stated that she truly believes that women were made with an extra bit of strength. Based on all of her own experience and learnings, Srishti advised other aspiring women to never give up on their dreams and ambitions. She said that one should get back up and fight for their goals till they have achieved them since giving up should never be an option.
