The very popular Sriti Jha is an Indian television actress. She has done numerous serials but her role in Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV was widely recognised and appreciated as one of her best performances. Sriti is known to be a versatile and talented actress. Almost all of the characters that she has played have been received very well by audiences.
Early Life And Family
Sriti was born on the 26 February 1986 in Begusarai, Bihar. She has one brother. A few years later, she and her family moved to Kolkata and spent 10 years there. They moved to Nepal before finally settling in New Delhi, where Sriti studied at Laxman Public School.
Sriti completed her Bachelors of Arts degree in English at Sri Venkateswara College, New Delhi. During this time, Sriti joined Verbum, an English dramatics society and eventually became the president. She got he first lead role in a Verbum play called Ritual In Blood and won the Best Actor Award in the Delhi University Dramatics circuit for her performance.
Career
Sriti started her career in 2007 as Malini Sharma in Dhoom Machao Dhoom. Next, she played Sunaina Kotak in Jiya Jale. She also became a part of the dance show Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan.
In 2009, she bagged the role of Suhani in the show Shaurya Aur Suhani. She then went on to play various roles like Sandhya in Rakt Sambandh, Jhanvi in Saubhagyavati Bhava and Ganga in Balika Vadhu. Since 2014, she has been playing the very popular role of Pragya in Ekta Kapoor’s Kumkum Bhagya alongside Shabir Ahluwalia.
Sriti is a poet and has also written a few dialogues for the shows Saubhagyavati Bhava and Balika Vadhu.
Awards
Sriti has also bagged quite a few awards for her talent of getting into the skin of the character with absolute ease and grace.
In 2014, she won the Zee Rishtey Award For Favourite Beti.
In 2015, she won the Indian Telly Award for Best Actress in a Lead Role and also for Best Jodi with her co-actor Shabir Ahluwalia.
In 2016, she won the Golden Award for Face of the Year and Best Actress in a Lead Role.
In 2017, she won the Zee Rishtey Award for Favourite Bahu.
In the year 2019, she won the Indian Television Academy Award for Best Actress (Drama) and also won a Zee Rishtey Award for the title Zee Ki Shaan along with Shabir Ahluwalia.
