Suman Dey, Sudipta Roy: Meet The Stars Of The Upcoming Zee Bangla TV Serial Khirer Putul

The Zee Bangla TV serial Khirer Putul is all set to for launch on the ZEE5 platform on July 27. Starring actors Suman Dey (Jash from Nakshi Kantha), Sudipta Roy (Ashalata from Chokher Bali), and Sreetama Roy Chowdhury (Jhilmil from Bodhuboron), Khirer Putul has been adapted from the famous novel of the same name by Abanindranath Tagore, and we cannot wait to see this magical fairy tale  play out on screen! The story of Khirer Putul is a favourite among classic Bengali literature, and many of us have been enchanted by it since childhood. Let’s take a look at the stars who play the lead roles in this exciting Bengali TV show.

1. Sudipta Roy

Actor Sudipta Roy plays the role of Duorani AKA Sudha. Duorani is the one of the two older queens in Khirer Putul, and is treated as inferior by the King. She lives modestly in a tiny hut and has very few possessions, while the younger queen is spoiled rotten by the King and has a gleaming palace, luxurious wardrobes, and other extravagances at her disposal. When the King sets off on his travels, Duorani asks for nothing to be brought back except a black-faced monkey as a present.

2. Suman Dey

The charming Suman Dey plays the role of King Shamantak. As we know, the King does not treat his two queens equally at all, and favours the younger Suorani over Duorani. However, his wish to beget a son takes precedence over any other priority, and he is inclined to be partial to the queen that is able to fulfil this one desire!

3. Sreetama Roy Chowdhury

Actor Sreetama Roy Chowdhury plays the evil Suorani AKA Sagarika. Suorani is extremely demanding and needs only the best of everything in order to be kept happy by the King. Despite always being indulged according to her whims and fancies, Suorani is incredibly jealous of the poor Duorani who practically lives like a pauper. She plots to bring her down at all costs as we shall soon see in the TV serial.

4. The Clever Monkey

Meet the clever monkey, who is perhaps the most important star in Khirer Putul! This is the same black-faced monkey that the King brings back for Duorani from his travels far and wide. He is a talking monkey that becomes Duorani’s best friend and advisor, and is instrumental in helping her to get her life back on track despite being treated poorly by the King.
