The 2017 Punjabi film Super Singh will make you laugh, it will make your emotional, and it will make you realise the nature of being a true Sikh. Diljit Dosanjh, Sonam Bajwa and Pawan Malhotra put up a great show in this Punjabi movie. Their dialogues add more spice to their character. So let’s list the lines that make Super Singh super se oophar.

Pawan Malhotra plays a saint called Rehmat Singh in the film. In his dera, when the Sarpanch and others come to pay respects, he humbly says: “Sarpanchji sar na jukao…eh sees sirf Waheguru de aage jhukana chahida hai. Main ta aap us da daas ha. Te das nu matha nahi tekida… hukum karida”. This establishes him as a noble soul.

Twinkle Kaur (Sonam) loves Sajjan (Diljit) but he is too busy becoming Sam for Cathy. Twinkle always helps him, hoping that he will one day reciprocate her feelings. Twinkle’s friend Sandy tells her to move on, but she replies: “Eh jo shayad hai na Sandy…eh bande nu jeene nahi denda”. 

Sajjan’s crush Cathy has crushed his feelings by saying that he’s very different and she is uncomfortable with his religion. Sajjan is so in love that he decides to give up his identity. However, his friend Happy makes him realise the value of being a Sikh. Thus, Sajjan kneels before Shri Guru Gobind Singh’s portrait and apologises by saying: “Tusi inni kurbaniyan naal pag kamai te main ohhi pag rodh dene wala si. Apni pehchan chodh ke… kuch hor banne wala si… oh vi ek kudi peeche. But hon nahi… hon koi sam-sum nahi..hon sirf Sajjan Singh“. He decides that he will not take off his turban even if there was a gun to his head.

After realising his mistake and the power of his orange turban, Sajjan decides to help his community as best as he can. Super Singh becomes people’s favourite. Everyone is praising the fact that a Sikh is helping all sorts of people. Cathy realises her mistake and meets Sam again. But now Sajjan has realised that Twinkle was the one who loves him with all heart. Twinkle used to do dishes for him. So when Cathy asks to get together with him again, Sajjan asks her if she can wash dishes for him. Cathy refuses and Sajjan replies, “Bas etho hi maar gayi kamliye… main vi maar kha gaya si. Par hon nahi. By the way, mera naa hai Sajjan Singh, not Sam… Sat Sri Akal, behenji!“

Some goons attack Sajjan Singh and his mother. She gets hospitalised, making Sajjan decide to give up being a superhero. He goes back to Punjab and he hands over the special turban to Rehmat, when it is revealed that Rehmat wanted to don this turban to create destruction. Rehmat stabs Sajjan and wears the special turban. But Rehmat fails to fly or do any extraordinary stuff. Angry, he fires a missile on Darbar Saab. Sajjan somehow manages to wear the same turban and get back his powers. Rehmat is shocked to see Sajjan in the Super Singh avatar. Sajjan says, “Banda nikamma honda hai baba….pagg nahi“.
