Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Family Was Forced To Sign On Statements, Says Lawyer

Jessica David . Sep 03, 2020 .

Vikas Singh, Sushant Singh Rajput’s family lawyer, says that the actor’s sisters were forced by Mumbai Police to sign on Marathi statements.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s family lawyer Vikas Singh addressed the media in a press conference on Thursday (September 3). He said that he met all three sisters today morning. Singh said that the family is very disturbed as they feel a campaign is being run to malign the image of the family. He also said that the sisters were forced by Mumbai Police to sign on the statements written in Marathi. Hence, they did not know what was being signed on. However, in a press conference, Mumbai Police said that the statements of the three sisters and father were recorded with their knowledge.

Senior advocate Singh said, “The family has never given any statement of Sushant dying by suicide.” Mumbai Police also claims that their statements were recorded in the presence of OP Singh, Rajput’s brother-in-law, who is also the Police Commissioner of Faridabad. OP Singh was also asked to record his statement but he did not turn up. He asked them to send questions on email and he would respond. This is not the SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) of recording statements and has to be done in person.
